Dear Minister: I just became an ally of Alberta’s support staff who work in our schools and are fighting government cuts to K-12 Education. The inadequate funding situation your government has forced on Alberta’s school children shows me that the current approach to funding our kids schools is irresponsible and ineffective. I do not want this generation of Alberta’s students to pay the price for Alberta Education’s failure to step up and protect funding for K-12 schools. My request is simple, please do everything you can to increase revenues for Alberta’s Education budget. That means collecting responsible revenues and ending tax giveaways to high-income earners and wealthy corporations. This is Alberta, and we value our education. We stand with the dedicated support staff that make our schools work for kids. Now is the time to ensure stable funding and show us that you believe in kids, not cuts to schools. Sincerely,
